LaserData

2026 Cohort

LaserData is an open-source data infrastructure pioneer building hyper-efficient, real-time streaming foundations for distributed systems, autonomous AI agents, and enterprise event architectures.

About LaserData

Founded by systems engineers and distributed systems veterans Kranti Parisa and Piotr Gankiewicz, LaserData operates at the cutting edge of modern data streaming and agentic systems. LaserData is the creator and primary contributor behind Apache Iggy, a next-generation, Rust-native message streaming engine engineered for ultra-low latency, massive throughput, and resource efficiency.

With the advent of autonomous AI workflows and multi-agent coordination, traditional message brokers and request-response APIs face fundamental throughput and persistence bottlenecks. LaserData bridges this gap by pioneering high-performance streaming primitives, kernel-bypassed I/O architectures, and native agent communication protocols that enable real-time intelligence at scale.

Core Focus Domains & Innovations

  • Apache Iggy Streaming Engine: A high-performance, open-source streaming platform written entirely in Rust. Powered by io_uring for asynchronous I/O and Rust’s zero-cost concurrency guarantees, Apache Iggy delivers sub-millisecond latencies and predictable performance for demanding real-time workloads.
  • AGDX (Agent Data Exchange Protocol): An open, wire-speed protocol purpose-built for autonomous AI agents to exchange structured data, streaming context, and state transitions across a durable, distributed log—moving beyond conventional REST and JSON-RPC constraints.
  • Agentic State & Memory Infrastructure: Unifying event streams, durable logging, key-value state, and graph traversal into an integrated fabric designed for multi-agent reasoning, context persistence, and real-time observability.
  • Rust Systems Engineering & Cloud-Native Performance: Championing modern systems programming, memory safety without garbage collection pauses, and developer tooling across cloud and on-premise environments.

Community Initiatives & Open Source Ecosystem

  • Apache Software Foundation Stewardship: Donating and shepherding Apache Iggy through the Apache Incubator, championing vendor-neutral governance and open-source collaboration across international developer communities.
  • Rust & Systems Meetups: Actively mentoring and collaborating with Rust developer communities (including Rust India and global systems groups) on low-level systems programming, lock-free data structures, and kernel-level optimizations.
  • Open Standards for AI Communication: Driving community adoption and collaborative development around AGDX, establishing open data contracts and SDKs (Rust, Python, TypeScript) for autonomous AI agents.
  • Developer Enablement & Research: Publishing technical guides, open architectural benchmarks, and best practices for building fault-tolerant, low-latency streaming infrastructure for modern enterprise AI applications.

DevCarnival 2026 Collaboration

As an ecosystem collaborator for DevCarnival 2026, LaserData joins forces to showcase next-generation Rust-native systems engineering, explore streaming architectures for autonomous multi-agent systems, and demonstrate high-throughput distributed data foundations at the conference.
